Introduction

Football is the most watched sport in America, and for good reason.  People love to see big hits, ankle-breaking juke moves, and deep passes.  The great thing about the sport is that it is everywhere.  All 50 states have very competitive high school football leagues.  The best players from high school go on to play FBS football.  However, some of these college athletes never the chance to play on the big stage.  Many college athletes, no matter how good they are, will never get a chance to compete for a national title.  For players on some Group-of-Five teams, they work hard year-round knowing that they will not have a chance to be a national champion, even if they are still part of the FBS.

A way to solve this problem is to expand the College Football Playoff.  With expansion, Group-of-Five teams would have a legitimate chance to qualify.  Expansion is supported by coaches and players throughout all FBS conferences, and for good reason (ESPN.com 2).  Since the introduction of the playoff in 2014, 3 teams have gone undefeated and not been invited.  It is simply wrong for a team to never have a chance to play for a national title after a perfect season.  If the playoff expands, every team will have a chance to prove how good they are.
